Cambridge ESOL launch online version of BULATS

Cambridge ESOL has announced that Business Language Testing Service (BULATS) is now available online following significant demand from customers. This version will provide commercial organisations with a robust and reliable English language test which has the flexibility to be taken at a time that suits the individual.
In order to help organisations make timely decisions in regards to recruiting candidates and offering promotion or an international placement to existing employees, BULATS Online provides a fast and accurate method of assessing language ability in English, French, German and Spanish. The test can also help to evaluate language training which has been delivered by a specialist external organisation for instance, to determine what progress has been made.
Michael Milanovic, CEO for Cambridge ESOL explains: “We are committed to ensuring that our exams continue to be fit-for-purpose for our commercial customers. More and more businesses are looking to recruit people with second language capabilities and therefore it is important for us to ensure we can provide the necessary tools for such decisions to be made quickly and efficiently.”
Fully aligned with the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), the test requires no specialist or expensive equipment – only a sound card and access to the internet is needed. BULATS Online is now available in Western Europe and will be rolled out to all other markets early 2009.
