State schools in Brittany to use Cambridge English language certification

25 February 2009

Cambridge ESOL has been selected by the regional government in Brittany, France to provide English language certification in state schools in the region.

This decision by the Conseil Régional de Bretagne is the latest in a series of adoptions by national and regional governments around the world, who increasingly see Cambridge certificates as a valuable addition to their national qualifications. It follows on from the highly successful project begun last year to introduce an English language test produced by Cambridge ESOL in schools with European sections throughout France, as a result of a contract awarded by the Ministry of National Education. At the same time, the regional government in Brittany has selected our ALTE partners the Goethe Institut and Instituto Cervantes to provide exams in German and Spanish.
