Cambridge University is ranked number 1 in the research league
19 December 2008
The results of the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) has placed Cambridge University in the top spot for their outstanding research in the UK.
The RAE is a UK-wide evaluation exercise of British research that helps to decide how over 1.5 billion of government funding is allocated. UK Universities submit their best research in a number of disciplines which is then assessed by an expert panel. Results are then used by UK funding bodies when making fund allocation decisions for research from 2009–10.
Cambridge ESOL is part of the Cambridge Assessment group – a department of the University of Cambridge.
