18 November 2008

The University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations hosted the semi final of the second Business English Certificates (BEC) competition in China.

The candidates – from a range of universities in China – had to impress a panel of judges made up of senior members of staff from examining bodies, Universities and the private sector.

Mickey Bonin, Development Manager, East Asia for Cambridge ESOL said:

“This is a great opportunity for students to shine in their English language ability which they will take with them into the world of work. Holders of these types of certificates find they really do have the competitive edge over their counterparts when in multinational companies.”

The winner Miss Su Yuyang from Xiamen University in the Fujian Province will now represent China with Mr. He Ruixiao from Shanghai International Studies University, the winner of the Semifinal competition in Changsha, to compete in the final in February, 2009 in Singapore.
