Working with the state sector
In addition to providing the world’s leading range of English qualifications for speakers of other languages, Cambridge ESOL works closely with many national and regional governments and education authorities around the world to help them achieve and maintain learning excellence.
We do this by offering a broad range of specialist services which can be designed and tailored to suit the requirements of a specific organisation, country or culture. These services include:
- diagnostic assessment services
- specific assessment solutions
- development and transfer of language assessment skills
- evaluation of test materials
- impact studies
- teacher assessment and support
- learning support
- syllabus mapping
- audit of test development and administration systems.
All of these services can be enhanced by the provision of advice and training for teachers, administrators and examiners, and by highly cost-effective systems for administration and marking.

As part of the Cambridge Assessment group, Cambridge ESOL can access a vast resource of research and expertise in delivering educational assessment services to the state sector in the UK and many other countries. Sister organisations OCR (Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations) and CIE (Cambridge International Examinations) provide school and vocational examinations in many countries, and have been involved in the development of many national qualification systems.
